Viajaremos al futuro imaginando una vida de 96 años, reflexionando sobre cómo el tiempo moldea nuestra percepción de la vida y cómo elegimos enfrentarlo. A través de las historias reales como la de Carmen y los datos que nos brinda la neurociencia, desentrañamos las claves para envejecer con gracia: movimiento físico y mental, relaciones sólidas y una actitud positiva.
Exploramos la resiliencia del cerebro humano, uno de los órganos más privilegiados en relación al envejecimiento y no solo capaz de preservar muchas de sus funciones sino incluso de potenciar otras como la regulación emocional, la empatía y la toma de decisiones basadas en experiencia.
También discutimos los estereotipos sobre el envejecimiento y su impacto en nuestra calidad de vida y longevidad, resaltando la importancia de construir una reserva cognitiva robusta para afrontar los desafíos del tiempo.
Conclusión: “hacerle spoiler a la vida” para envejecer mejor. Transformemos la narrativa aceptando la incertidumbre de la vida y encontrando sentido en nuestras historias. ¿Estamos listos para escribir un final que resuma la tragicomedia de nuestras vidas? Experta en Psicogeriatría y Neuropsiquiatría, profesora adjunta en la UCM y autora de dos libros de divulgación científica: Una mente con mucho cuerpo (2021) y Tus microtraumas (2023).
