Eco-labels: Empowering Consumers for a Greener Future | Saanvi Khetan | TEDxTISB Youth
Every product we buy comes with a cost - not just to our wallets, but to the health of our planet. What if the truth about a product’s environmental footprint was printed right on its label? Not as a marketing gimmick, but as a system - transparent, measurable, and impossible to ignore. This talk explores the power of ‘eco-labels’, and how making the invisible visible might just be the key to conscious consumption. What begins as a label has the power to reshape industries, behaviors and the future of our planet.
Saanvi is a 9th grader at The International School Bangalore with a deep-rooted passion for the environment and a belief that change begins with awareness. This commitment has driven her to build a personal carbon-footprint tracking app and explore how everyday decisions impact the planet. In her TED Talk, she brings this vision to life, proposing a bold system to make sustainability visible and measurable. Beyond her environmental work, she’s an avid reader and writer, a theatre performer who has directed and acted in several productions, and the co-host of a podcast. She has a deep curiosity for the intersection of AI, technology, finance and business, and has interned at the fintech firm, Kristal AI This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. - 13:08Microagressions Under a Microscope | Elisha Dalmeida | TEDxJenks YouthMy Ted Talk this year will be on micro aggressions, which can be defined as “subtle discrimination.” I chose this topic because often times we fail to realize that some of the things we say or do can be harmful or micro-aggressive, so that’s what I want to educate on! After high school, I’ll be attending Lafayette College to major in political science! Hello! My name is Elisha Dalmeida and I’m currently a senior at Jenks High School! I was a TedX speaker last year and am proud to be one again this year. I’m involved in speech & debate, theatre, mock trial, pre med, and a handful of other activities.
