Eugenio Piccione denounces the dramatic advance of desertification in Sicily, which threatens to engulf 70% of the territory. He speaks of an irreversible process that, once set in motion, destroys the soil’s ability to produce life, water, and resources. He shows how water does exist but is poorly managed: the rains come, but they are wasted, rivers overflow, and the land remains dry. He proposes a return to the land, reforestation, and the restoration of biodiversity. He illustrates how Sicily could rise again if we only returned to community, working together to regenerate the soil. "If not now, when?" he asks, warning that through concrete action, regenerative agriculture, and agroforestation, we can avoid the end of our land. Change is possible, but it depends on each of us. Passionate about sociology, he is particularly interested in how online communities shape their identity, develop specific vocabularies, and establish internal social dynamics. He believes that many phenomena go unnoticed, yet small social changes can escalate into larger, more complex issues. He argues that by observing and analyzing these micro-phenomena early on, we can anticipate future developments and better understand the evolving digital landscape. Additionally, he has a strong interest in regenerative agriculture and social projects, believing that sustainability and social innovation are crucial to addressing future challenges. - 10:36Finding Dob | Mardhian Pratama | TEDxUniversitasBrawijayaThis talk shares a journey of finding personal art style through a small character named Dob. Where he was initially inspired by complex illustrations a la Where's Waldo? and then tried to develop it with a style full of detail and rich isometric backgrounds. However, over time, the search for this art style also made him quite tired and lost his enthusiasm which finally made him realize that Dob - a simple character who often appears in the picture - is actually his personal art style. Artsyle is not about technical complexity but about honesty in work and connection. The most important thing about art that resonates is art that can be accessed, shared, and felt by many people. Iynventory is an Alumni of Architecture Universitas Brawijaya who is also a graphic artist who brings life stories in every work. With colorful strokes and unique styles, Iynventory captures memorable moments, both from personal experiences and from the people around him. - 21:39Gado Gado: "Kamu bukan Personal Branding-mu” | Kala | TEDxUniversitasBrawijayaThis talk explores self-identity and the impact of personal branding, using gado-gado as a metaphor for human complexity. The speaker shares her journey from childhood attachments to an identity crisis at 17, questioning whether she was building her true self or just a curated brand. While personal branding can open opportunities, it also creates pressure to maintain a flawless image. She realizes that no matter how carefully one curates themselves both online or offline, the world will never fully know their reality. In the end, she reminds the audience that they are more than their personal branding—they are ever-evolving individuals, just like gado-gado, rich in diversity and always changing. Deeply flawed person with an unlimited will to grow who aims to embody the soul of a storyteller. She loves to write, share, and tell stories about life, people, and love as well as self-development, mental health, gender, and humanitarian issues. Some of her personal work include starting an NGO named Arise Arose and The #YourStoryIsHeard Community Organization, and campaigns such as #BerkainBersama, #BraveToBeBare, and Puan Rumah.
