- 16:49Journey in fashion through stitching stories | Aditi Bhonsle | TEDxCITBengaluruAditi Bhonsle’s journey with embroidery began in childhood, during summers spent at her grandmother’s house, where vibrant threads and shared stories created more than just patterns—they marked the first epoch of her creative life. As time went on, life pulled her in different directions—a corporate job, IAS preparation, MBA coaching—but none felt right. It was only when she revisited her love for fashion and needlework that she entered her second epoch: one defined by purpose and passion.Opening a boutique, she dreamt of weaving traditional embroidery into modern design. Though initial responses were slight, she kept evolving her craft. Then came marriage and motherhood—followed by the challenges of postpartum depression. This difficult period marked her third epoch, one of healing. Music, which she had once set aside, returned to her life and helped rebuild her confidence.During the COVID-19 pandemic, embroidery re-entered her life with new meaning. Aditi picked up her needle again, and this time it stayed. From sharing work on WhatsApp to launching her Instagram page “Kadhaaee”, her hobby blossomed into a global mission. She began teaching online classes, connecting with students across ages and countries—even inspiring senior citizens to stitch again.Through Kadhaaee, Aditi works to revive hand embroidery as not just a craft, but a mindful, inclusive, and therapeutic practice. For her, it’s a way to slow down, tell stories, and preserve culture in a fast-paced digital world. She leaves us with a thought: if a single strand of thread can carry centuries of emotion and history, imagine what it could add to your story. Each stitch is more than just design—it’s an epoch of growth, patience, and resilience waiting to be made. Aditi Bhonsle, the visionary behind Kadhaaee is a passionate fashion designer redefining tradition through intricate hand embroidery. Since 2009, she has been weaving heritage into modern fashion, making this timeless craftwork. Founding Kadhaaee in 2020 to preserve and celebrate embroidery, she was also honored with the Aspiring Women Entrepreneur award in 2023. Through her work, she continues to stitch stories into fabric, transforming embroidery into a bridge between tradition and innovation. - 17:30How I mastered VFX, life, and leadership | Shiji Sunil | TEDxCITBengaluruShe didn’t follow a path—she built one. Shiji Sunil, a trailblazer in technology and visual storytelling, began her journey with no formal background in tech or media. In 2018, she established the first technology studio in her country—an ambitious leap into the unknown that would eventually make her a powerhouse in the VFX industry. By 23, she became the Center Head of a leading company, and over the years, her work earned her titles like “Extraordinaire in VFX,” “Change Maker of the Year,” and one of the “25 Women to Follow.”But this story isn’t just about milestones—it’s about epochs, the turning points that redefine us. Her most pivotal moment came not in a boardroom, but during a personal crisis: her father’s health began to deteriorate, and suddenly the world she knew shifted. The loneliness of that time, the absence of support, and the realization that she had to rely solely on herself shaped her in ways no title ever could. In this deeply moving and thought-provoking talk, Shiji dives into the power of resilience, the illusion of overnight success, and the cognitive biases—confirmation, anchoring, status quo, and overconfidence—that silently shape our decisions. She shares how the fusion of technology and storytelling isn’t about choosing one over the other, but mastering both in harmony. With brutal honesty and grounded wisdom, she speaks to anyone caught between imagination and action. Her message is simple yet powerful: Start small, but start. Break your dreams into steps, push through fear, and trust the process—even when it’s uncertain. This isn’t just a talk. It’s a reflection, a wake-up call, and an invitation to capture your kairos—and reshape your story, one decision at a time. Shiji Sunil is a visionary leader shaping AVGC, where creativity meets technology. With 22 years in Animation, VFX, and Virtual Production, she has influenced films, gaming, and immersive media. As the COO of MR Creatives Media, she doesn’t just follow trends, she sets them. A recipient of the Global Women Leadership Award (Dubai, 2023), she continues to push boundaries and drive digital transformation. - 14:49The Future of Making: Robotics, Recycling, and Redefining Design | Sebastian Voigt | TEDxPotsdamIn an age where mass production dominates, can we find a way to merge the craftsmanship of the past with the technology of the future? Sebastian explores the trinity of manufacturing—man, matter, and machines—and how hybrid manufacturing techniques like robotics, 3D printing, and incremental sheet forming are reshaping the way we produce. By integrating recycled materials and bio-based plastics, he envisions a world where design is sustainable, production is local, and waste is minimized. This talk challenges us to rethink the way we create, consume, and recycle—proving that technology can be a tool for sustainable change rather than destruction. Sebastian Voigt is a product designer who is intensively involved with the combination of design and innovative manufacturing techniques. He graduated in Product Design at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam and obtained a Master in Robotics and Advanced Construction at the Institute of Advanced Architecture Catalonia (IAAC) in Barcelona. Since then, he has specialised in combining new design strategies such as computational design and robot-assisted manufacturing to develop environmentally friendly and economical solutions for one-off and small-batch production. Voigt is the founder of Design+Robotics, a studio based in the Vulkanfiberfabrik Werder (Havel), which researches and develops the latest technologies in manufacturing and offers them as a service to a wide range of industries. Its work includes innovative manufacturing processes such as hybrid manufacturing and incremental sheet forming, but also the transfer of manual production techniques to an industrial robot in order to support regional craftsmanship and offer an alternative to mass production, as well as the use of recyclable materials and efficient and resource-saving production on demand. Under the new MATES label, he wants to further emphasise his vision in terms of potential, feasibility and significance and make it accessible to everyone. The vision of creating production possibilities in harmony with man, machine and material that can be realised regionally and on demand beyond the mass industry and create a new freedom of design.
