Prof. Anil Bhardwaj is a Planetary and Space Scientist and is currently serving as the Director of Physical Research Laboratory (PRL) which is a unit of the Department of Space of Government of India.He has been the principal investigator on various experiments on multiple Indian space missions, including the famous Chandrayaan-1 and Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), and have led experiments on highly celebrated Chandrayaan-3 Lander-Rover Mission and solar mission Aditya-L1.
