The Great Interconnectedness Farce | Uditi Shenoy G | TEDxCPS Chennai Youth

Despite our hyper-connected digital age, genuine human connection remains elusive. While smartphones and social media promise to bridge distances, they often create an illusion of closeness that masks a deeper isolation. We scroll through carefully curated highlights of others' lives, trade emoji reactions for real emotions, and mistake followers for friends. The paradox of our time is that we're simultaneously more connected and more alone than ever before, substituting authentic human bonds with shallow digital interactions. Uditi G. Shenoy, a 14-year-old student at CPS, is an avid reader with an impressive command of the English language. A key member of her school's student council and an NCO gold medalist, she aspires to lead and inspire others. Believing in the value of the journey over the destination, Uditi has earned numerous accolades in public speaking, debating, and singing. Proficient in both Carnatic and Western vocal styles, she also represented her school at the prestigious Harvard Model United Nations conference. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
