Explore the Unseen through the Lens | Lavender Chang | TEDxMacauUST

Photography has often been seen as a medium for capturing moments, but visual artist Lavender Chang redefines its possibilities. Through long-exposure photography, she turns fleeting moments into visual narratives that compress time, embracing uncertainty and chance as essential elements of her art. By weaving together time, space, and chance, Lavender’s work goes beyond documentation, inviting us to perceive the world anew and uncover the extraordinary within the ordinary. Lavender is a visual artist renowned for her photography, which revolves around the core concepts of time and process. Her work deeply reflects a keen sensitivity to subtle changes in her surroundings, aiming to capture these delicate moments and record the traces of time’s passage. She creates an artistic experience that encourages viewers to engage in deeper contemplation as time unfolds. Her works have received international honors, including the Singapore President's Design Award, and have been exhibited and collected by museums, art galleries, photography exhibitions, and film festivals. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
