How to estimate future changes and cultivate foresight advantages? | Kaiping Peng | TEDxTheBund
Time is a continuous variable, but humans need to segment time psychologically. The most common segmentation is to divide time into the past, present, and future.
But we have an asymmetry in our perception of the past and the future. Compared to what will happen in the future, what has happened in the past 5 or even 40 years is more likely to evoke our imagination. This is the "illusion of the end of history" proposed in psychology, which means that people tend to overestimate the changes they have experienced in the past and underestimate the changes they will experience in the future. The ACE theory proposed by Professor Kaiping Peng also encourages the great power of positive human nature. Utilize the advantages of simulating a positive future to elevate one's appreciation of beauty (A), communication skills (C), and empathy (E). Founder of Positive Psychology in China
