Debating Against Fallacious Arguments | Tzu Yi (Brian) Lo | TEDxShanghai American School Pudong

Have you ever felt overwhelmed in a debate by tricky arguments and logical fallacies? In this talk, Brian Lo reveals the tactics of various types of debaters—such as the "Dodger", "Twister", "Wrangler", and "Liar"—and how to effectively counter them. By harnessing wisdom and wit, he explains how to navigate these challenges to maintain the integrity of your arguments. Born in Taipei, I moved to Shanghai at the age of 1 month. Perpetuated by my passions of public speaking and competitive argumentation, I enjoy searching for the embodiment of the social and physical sciences through Science Fairs and leading my Track & Field team. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
