A lehetetlenen túl | Nóra Vámos | TEDxLibertyBridgeWomen

What drives a mother of three to embark on extreme adventures in the coldest places on Earth—Greenland and beyond the Arctic Circle—without a serious sports background? Nóra Vámos’s courage and her desire to discover her true self beyond her comfort zone can be an inspiration to us all! Nóra achieved something never before accomplished: she was the first in the world to complete a Greenland crossing as part of a mixed-gender duo, taking on one of the toughest and most grueling ultra-distance Arctic challenges. During the 30-day expedition, she endured -20°C temperatures while traversing the 560-kilometer expanse of the world’s largest island, a land ruled by polar bears. Nóra also became the first Hungarian woman to complete this feat—and she didn’t stop there. She conquered Norway next, then embarked on a solo 21-day trek through Hardangervidda National Park, the very region where Amundsen once prepared for his South Pole expedition.
A single mother raising three teenagers, Nóra didn’t just randomly pick a spot on the map. She undertook these extreme, comfort-zone-defying journeys to meet the requirements of a rigorous qualification program—one that will allow her to take part in an Arctic expedition no Hungarian has ever completed. - 3:55Tear the Classroom Walls | Annabelle Vinatoru | TEDxQuestfield Intl College YouthImagine a future where classrooms break free from walls and boundaries, transforming into limitless spaces of exploration and discovery. Lessons come alive as students dive into oceans, trek through forests, and touch ancient history—immersed in dynamic ecosystems that blend nature, technology, and human creativity. Literature unfolds in vivid settings, math becomes tangible on kinetic floors, and science is learned by streams and under starry skies. Education expands beyond virtual reality, turning the entire world into a classroom where students engage directly with the environment. This vision of learning without limits redefines education as an immersive journey, where knowledge is lived, not confined—unlocking endless possibilities for the next generation. As an 8th-grade student at Questfield International College, I am eager to embrace new challenges and opportunities. Currently 14 years and 11 months old, I will turn 15 in April 2025. Born and raised in Bucharest, I have always been passionate about communication, which is why TEDx felt like the perfect opportunity to explore this passion further. Throughout my school experience, teachers and peers have consistently recognized my strengths in presentation, oral communication, and argumentation. These skills define me, and I am determined to refine them even further as I work toward my goal of becoming a trial lawyer. Beyond academics, traveling, meeting new people, reading, drawing, and mathematics bring me great joy. I also deeply value the time spent with my loved ones and actively seek opportunities for self-discovery and growth. - 7:20Pixels and Playgrounds | Miruna Chivulescu | TEDxQuestfield Intl College YouthImagine a future where AI transforms classrooms into immersive spaces of creativity and connection. In this speech, the speaker reflects on humanity’s growing dependence on technology, from personal devices to digital classrooms powered by AI. They envision a world where students interact with holograms, explore galaxies, and bring history to life with the help of advanced tools. Yet, this rapid change comes with challenges—nostalgia for simpler times and fears of losing human warmth to cold precision. The speaker emphasizes that the future lies not in choosing between humanity and technology but in mastering their balance, ensuring they work together to redefine education, creativity, and connection for generations to come.Driven by AI’s game-changing impact, I’m on a mission to spark real change in the world. As Lukas Graham once said in his song “ I know the smallest voices, they can make it major ” that’s my ultimate goal – making the smallest voices impossible to ignore.2022 – won 1st place in the Script Competition ,, Buftea Studios’’ movie camp June 2022 – 16th place in National Fencing Championship February 2022 – leading role ( Damiana ) in a short film produced by ,,Buftea Studios’’ Academy This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. - 11:54Skate on Black Ice or Build on Solid Ground | Ana Maria Goilav | TEDxQuestfield Intl College YouthImagine a world where education transcends the confines of traditional classrooms. A place where learning is not just about screens and efficiency, but about human connection and authenticity. In this vision, schools are reimagined as peripatetic journeys through historic neighborhoods and natural landscapes, where students engage with timeless texts and craft with their hands. This is not just a dream; it's a reality being built in places like Școala de la Bunești, a summer school in the heart of a forest, where students and professors co-create a community rooted in nature and tradition. The future of education will divide us into two kinds of learners: those who skate on the thin ice of digital surfaces and those who build on solid ground, grounded in reality and human experience. Which path will you choose? Is a practicing architect and researcher, associate professor at the Ion Mincu University of Architecture and Urban Planning. Together with Petre Guran, a researcher at the Romanian Academy’s Institute of South-East European Studies and Doctor in the history of civilizations at EHESS Paris, she co-founded 17 years ago the School of Buneşti, a college of architecture and liberal arts, where they apply principles of green architecture and sustainable development aligned with the rural cultural landscape. She also cofounded Arheia (2020), a project offering classical education to pupils aged 6 to 18. Ana Maria has published scientific articles in national and international journals and co-authored the book Acasă. Şcoala de la Buneşti. Oameni, cărţi, case (Home. The School of Buneşti. People, Books, Houses), published in 2017 by UAUIM. She holds a PhD in Church Architecture (2011, UAUIM).
