Connect Tier-3 India to Global Opportunities | Arsh Goyal | TEDxIIT Patna
The rising academic pressure in India has led to an alarming increase in student suicides, exposing deep flaws in our education system. From childhood, we are conditioned to chase grades, colleges, and jobs, yet millions graduate yearly with limited opportunities. The real issue isn’t just competition but the lack of awareness about alternative paths—where upskilling can unlock global opportunities beyond traditional degrees. Even a 10th-grade student in a remote village can earn dollars through the right skills, yet many college students remain unaware of such possibilities. Drawing from my own journey, this talk explores how shifting focus from blind competition to smart upskilling can help students break free from pressure, find purpose, and secure real success. Arsh Goyal is a Senior Software Engineer at Samsung and was recognized as a LinkedIn Top Voice 2024 for his contributions to Generative AI. With a background in space technology as a former ISRO engineer, Arsh has consistently demonstrated excellence in his field, further evidenced by his status as a Gold Medalist from NIT Jalandhar.Beyond his professional accomplishments, Arsh is passionate about education and community building. He serves as an educator on Unacademy and is an active participant in the competitive coding community on CodeChef. His engaging content across YouTube and Instagram has garnered a following of over 200k, where he shares his insights on technology, coding, and career growth. - 15:16How education can prepare us for the future | Diana Stafie | TEDxQuestfield Intl College YouthThe future starts now! But while we’ve all studied history and math, who has ever taken a future class? In a world changing at breakneck speed—with new technologies, industries, and even AI CEOs—how do we prepare for what’s next? We can’t predict 2030 or 2050, but we can prepare by becoming futures literate—learning to spot trends, imagine possibilities, and anticipate change. Teaching the future isn’t about guessing; it’s about rehearsing different scenarios so we make smarter choices today. Just like before an exam, a little foresight makes all the difference. The future isn’t something that happens to us—it’s something we create. So, let’s pick up our brushes and start painting! Diana is a Strategic Foresight consultant and founder of Future Station, a foresight and strategy consultancy agency that helps organizations to understand changes, spot new trends, spark innovation and prepare for the future.
