Indonesia's Smart City: From Heritage to High Tech | Andy Rahman | TEDxUniversitasAirlangga

Cities are vital to the innovation and housing a growing population, but urbanization also brings challenges like resource shortages and pollution. Smart City initiatives offer solutions, improving sustainability and quality of life through technology. What people mostly forget is how actually mundane things could be the composition to create smart city. The functioning of a city are fundamentally dependent on technology. To ensure inclusive development that benefits all inhabitants, smart cities must be customised to local needs. Andy Rahman is the founder of Andyrahman Architect, He was a finalist at the World Architecture Festival in Berlin in 2016. He authored the book Natabata II. He is also the creator of the Lego Mosque, Andy Rahman will present how environmentally friendly, locally sourced materials from Indonesia can make architecture in the country more inclusive in the development of smart cities.
