This TEDx talk addresses the loss of nuance in modern society, driven by social media and sensationalism, and how the youth can reclaim empathy and critical thinking to reshape democracy and foster meaningful discourse. Elisa da Rold is an American Section student in Première at the Lycée International de Saint Germain en Laye. She is French and Argentinian and before moving to France, lived in the US, Panama, UAE and Italy. Elisa is passionate about fostering creativity, leadership, and connection through service, cultural exchange, and community engagement and hopes to pursue a career in medicine, and more specifically psychiatry.
