Performance: Garden | Sara Van Hecke | TEDxManitouSprings
"Garden" is a song about the temporality of life. Its lyrics connect deeply with nature as a reminder to slow down amidst restlessness. Even though tomorrow isn't guaranteed, plant the garden anyway." Freshly planted in the front range, Sara Van Hecke is making a name for herself in Colorado’s musical realm. Enchanted by Chicago’s vibrant music scene as a young singer-songwriter, Sara Van Hecke serenaded crowds in famed concert halls such as The House of Blues, The Bottom Lounge, and The Beat Kitchen. Bustling rooms fell silent carefully listening to her radically honest and personal songwriting. Sara Van Hecke has over 10 years of performing, songwriting and recording experience and draws inspiration from artists like Norah Jones, Brandi Carlile and Maggie Rogers. Sara’s original tunes are grounded yet dreamlike - weaving authentic moments with the curiosities of life. - 8:01Washing away carbon emissions in the laundry | Roger Berry | TEDxBostonHumans have invented millions of chemicals that do many useful jobs. However, the intended beneficial properties can come at a cost to human and planetary health. Learn how implementing a nature-inspired chemical invention called TAML has the potential to save 85 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions and 26 billion gallons of water by changing the way we conduct an everyday task – laundry. TAML catalysts mimic nature’s processes to transform how we use chemicals, dramatically reduce carbon emissions, save precious water resources, and reduce the overall volume of chemicals in use today. Deploying TAML chemistry across multiple industry could save more than 1% of global carbon emissions and can have a radical impact on our planet. At the same time, the resource efficiency and potential cost savings for industry can align incentives to help the solution scale. Roger Berry is the CEO of Sudoc, LLC, a company with a patented, nature-inspired chemistry that makes chemical reactions exponentially more powerful. With more than two decades of experience with investing in and leading companies with a focus on sustainability has prepared Roger for his current role in building a transformative sustainable chemistry company in Sudoc.
