A camera, a journey fueled by determination, and the heavy apples weighed down by the stories of the elderly—this is what gave birth to a lifelong mission. But how does all of this affect us? How does the wisdom of the elderly change us? And what happens when we finally discover our own "görbeország" (crooked country)? / Zsófia Mohos is a photographer. She embraces this title because she values long-term, in-depth work—the kind that defined the great photographers of the past. As a child in the Palóc region, she saw cultural values fade with time and felt her camera was a tool to preserve them. This led to her documentary photo series, Görbeország. Today, she explores Palócföld and Vojvodina, capturing people who live by tradition, preserving their essence through photography and storytelling. / What makes Hungarian cuisine so special that someone would trade a successful diplomatic career for cooking?
