Daughters Behind the Glass | Elisa Jiménez Ballesteros | TEDxColegio Merici Youth

Special circunstances in families She was born on September 30, 2008. Since she was a child, she never shied away from difficult and controversial topics, while many of her classmates and friends gravitated toward lighter themes. Her concern led her to question the plight of girls and adolescents with incarcerated parents. Ypung woman abandoned in the shadows, without being made visible, recognized or cared for. Elisa embraces social issues so that, from her own perspective, she can make a difference. They, the daughters of prisioners, are daughters, sisters and dreamy souls who did not choose to bear that stigma. “Let´s stop hiding them; they need a voice.” Elisa affirms. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
