A New Approach To Work-Life Balance | Blessing Leonard | TEDxMaitama Women
In this refreshing and transformative talk, Blessing Leonard unpacks what it truly means to pursue work-life balance in an ever-demanding world.Drawing from her personal experiences as a thriving entrepreneur, young mother, and purpose-driven leader, Blessing challenges the outdated ideals of balance that often leave women feeling overwhelmed, guilty, or stretched thin. Instead, she offers a more authentic, liberating, and intentional approach—one that prioritizes purpose, grace, and alignment over perfection. With deep empathy and striking clarity, Blessing takes us on a journey of redefining success—not as doing it all, but as living a life that reflects your values, your season, and your unique calling. She shares how, in the midst of motherhood, entrepreneurship, and spiritual growth, she found a rhythm that empowered her not just to survive, but to thrive.Blessing is the visionary founder of The 20’s Mum, a powerful community for young mothers who are navigating the beautiful, complex intersection of identity, motherhood, and ambition. Through this platform, she inspires women to rediscover themselves, reignite their dreams, and embrace their God-given purpose without guilt or compromise.
She also leads DBSL, a global digital marketing agency where she serves as CEO and Lead Strategist, helping brands across continents grow with clarity, creativity, and excellence. Her academic and professional credentials—spanning an MBA in Business Administration, Logistics Management, Business Analysis, and Digital Marketing—speak to her brilliance and versatility. But beyond the accolades, it is her resilience, optimism, and ability to remain calm in chaos that make her truly stand out.Today, Blessing Leonard is a guiding light for women around the world—proof that you don’t have to choose between purpose and peace, between ambition and motherhood. Her talk is a compelling invitation to embrace a new paradigm: one where life is not about balancing the impossible, but aligning with what truly matters. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. - 11:42Uniformity is Overrated: Speak Up | Jovann Loh | TEDxBencoolen St YouthHistory’s greatest minds weren’t celebrated for blending in. They shattered consensus. Yet today, we rebuild the cages they fought to break, mistaking ideological purity for true diversity. The speaker seeks to contend that a world without disagreement is a world without growth. Jovann is a JC2 student at Eunoia Junior College, which means they’ve mastered the art of looking busy while procrastinating and surviving on dangerously little sleep. They have no fancy accolades, no groundbreaking research to their name, but they do have an unfortunate habit of going down ideological rabbit holes instead of doing actual work.Between cramming for exams and questioning their life choices, they’ve noticed something odd: everyone seems to think they’re the hero of history. Every ideology claims to champion freedom, justice, or equality precisely until you disagree with them. This talk isn’t about giving you the “right” answers (if they had those, they’d be much richer), but it might make you question just how much of what you believe is actually yours, and how much is just borrowed from the loudest voices around you.And if nothing else, at least it’ll be more interesting than another GP lecture.
