STOP FREAKING OUT ABOUT SPEAKING OUT | Thomas Friebe | TEDxWHU
Imagine turning your biggest fear into your greatest mission. Thomas Friebe, one of Germany’s most recognisable voices, once struggled with a fear of the microphone, and now empowers others to speak freely and confidently. In his talk, he reveals how overcoming fear unlocks our true potential, and why doing so is not just a right, but a responsibility. Thomas Friebe is a father of four, entrepreneur, best-selling author, expert on convincing performance and, as a voice actor, one of the most heard voices on German television. Since he suffered from microphone fear at the beginning of his career as a young radio journalist and was able to successfully overcome this, he has made it his mission to free people with the same challenges from these blockages and fears. "Only then", says Thomas, "can we develop our full potential and this", he is convinced, "is not only our right, but also our duty". Over the last twelve years Thomas has helped hundreds of customers overcome their fear of speaking. As CEO of the Thomas Friebe Akademie, he also trains other coaches to quickly free clients from fears. Together with success coach Brian Tracy, Thomas Friebe is co-author of the bestseller “Transform". - 10:10the importance of inner voice-self awareness | Zoe Chen | TEDxQDHS Youthwe need to listen to and feel not just the world around me, but the world within me. Hi everyone! I’m an idealist who loves to explore, try new things, and stay curious about life. I think getting to know myself is a fun and ongoing journey, so I enjoy learning about who I am through conversations with others and moments of self-reflection. In my free time, I love watching dramas and movies—getting lost in different stories and seeing the world from new perspectives. I also enjoy traveling, visiting new places, and experiencing different cultures. Every trip teaches me something new about the world and about myself. Today, I want to share some simple tips that have helped me feel more confident. I hope my experiences can offer you something useful, and through this speech, I’d love for you to get to know a version of me who truly enjoys life and isn’t afraid to try new things! - 11:32AI-generated voices | Sky Niu | TEDxQDHS Youththrough neuroscience and science, technology, and society perspectives, the human biases and limited viewpoints embedded within AI-generated voices, and their potential impacts on us. I’m Sky Niu, someone in deep love with humanity and the world around us. In an era where algorithms and emotions gradually become inseparable, AI technology makes our understanding of love, gender, and identity increasingly nuanced yet ambiguous. Is love an intangible mystery portayed by lyrics and poetry, or a quantitative product of biological instincts and hormonal reactions? Encoded gender expectations and quantified emotional paradigms are reshaping the identity coordinates of our generation. In my talk, I aim to explore, through neuroscience and Science, Technology, and Society perspectives, the human biases and limited viewpoints embedded within AI-generated voices, and their potential impacts on us. Only by doing so can we better safeguard our essence of humanity amidst the turbulence of technology.
