Como líder comunitária, Sônia Guajajara tem sido uma voz poderosa na defesa de suas terras e da cultura ancestral. Sua atuação ultrapassou as fronteiras do Brasil, alcançando reconhecimento internacional com a Ordem do Mérito Cultural e a inclusão na lista das 100 pessoas mais influentes do mundo pela revista Time.
