Merhawi Andy "The Journey That Made Me" | Merhawi Andy | TEDxWesternIowaTech

Originally from a small village in Eritrea, Merhawi Andy and his family made a daring and dangerous escape when he was a small child, becoming refugees in the United States. Merhawi shares his family’s story of resilience, strength, and shares how the immigrant experience has shaped his life and his future. Originally from a small village in Eritrea, Merhawi’s passion for leadership and entrepreneurship is deeply influenced by his father, Tukue, and his older brother, Tesfai. After completing his studies at WIT, he plans to transfer to the University of Nebraska Omaha to pursue his goal of becoming a Certified Public Accountant. With a strong drive for success, he aspires to use his accounting expertise to one day start and grow his own business.
