Cette présentation examine l'influence des rôles de genre traditionnels sur la représentation des sexes, la perception de la compétence et la sociabilité dans divers contextes sociaux. Elle révèle que même le sexisme considéré comme bénin et ordinaire peut altérer les performances et la concentration des femmes. La présentation met en évidence la persistance de ces stéréotypes dans des sociétés gouvernées de manière équitable et la nécessité d'une réflexion critique sur les normes sociales établies et les stratégies visant à promouvoir l'égalité des sexes. Benoit Dardenne obtient un doctorat à l’UCLouvain en 1995. Il est ensuite Chercheur Qualifié auprès du Fonds National de la Recherche Scientifique (FNRS). En 1998, il rejoint l’Université de Liège où il prend la direction du service de psychologie sociale. Il y poursuit des recherches et enseigne dans différents domaines de la psychologie sociale, avec un intérêt particulier pour les relations intergroupes, les stéréotypes et la discrimination sexiste.
