Dr. Toone will explore how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing the world - in particular how it affects the roles of parents and children. Based on his lens as a public educator and a parent of teenagers and young adults, Dr. Toone will explore ways parents can continue to be successful - given that AI is a reality in homes, schools, and workplaces. Acknowledging concerns about student data privacy, academic integrity, and online safety he emphasizes that the role of parents is critical to protect young people and prepare them for a future that undoubtedly includes AI as a widely used resource. Dr. Logan Toone is an Assistant Superintendent in the Davis School District, where he supervises the district’s instructional and technology programs. His career in education began as a mathematics teacher at Bountiful High School. He later served as the mathematics curriculum supervisor and the director of the assessment department at the district office. Dr. Toone holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Weber State University and earned his Ph.D. in Education from Utah State University in 2012. His professional passions include data collection and analysis, digital learning tools, and instructional leadership. He resides in Clearfield, Utah, with his wife and four children.
