Carlo Macchini, ginnasta artistico dal 2010, racconta la sua esperienza alle Olimpiadi di Parigi 2024. Nonostante i successi precedenti, durante la gara alla sbarra ha avuto crampi ai polpacci, compromettendo la sua performance. Benché inizialmente scoraggiato, ha deciso di continuare l'esercizio nonostante il dolore e la consapevolezza che il punteggio sarebbe stato basso. Il pubblico ha mostrato grande empatia e sostegno, applaudendo il suo coraggio e determinazione. Dopo la gara, Carlo ha ricevuto numerosi messaggi di supporto e gratitudine, che lo hanno commosso profondamente. Carlo Macchini si avvicina alla ginnastica fin da piccolo, collezionando nel tempo successi nazionali e internazionali. Dopo il bronzo agli EYOF 2013, conquista il suo primo scudetto di Serie A1 con la Pro Carate nel 2015. Partecipa a numerose competizioni europee e mondiali, ottenendo finali e medaglie, tra cui più titoli italiani assoluti alla sbarra (2020, 2023, 2024) e un argento europeo ad Antalya nel 2023. Membro delle Fiamme Oro dal 2020, nel 2024 partecipa alle Olimpiadi di Parigi, chiudendo sesto in squadra.
