Rolando narra las investigaciones en la lucha contra el cáncer de cervix, y plantea como no sólo podemos sino que debemos dar semajantes luchas Rolando Herrero, médico oncólogo, epidemiólogo, investigador hace 40 años de cánceres relacionados con infecciones, en estudios con decenas de miles de participantes en todo el mundo, incluidos ensayos de vacunas contra el virus de papiloma humano. Médico (1982) y especialista en oncología (1987) en la Universidad de Costa Rica, y PhD en Epidemiología en el Instituto Karolinska en Suecia (1996). Fue jefe de la Sección de Detección Temprana y Prevención Agencia Internacional para la Investigación del Cáncer de la OMS (2011-2019). Actualmente director científico de la Agencia Costarricense de Investigación Biomédica. Actualmente investiga esquemas alternativos de vacunas contra el VPH para acelerar la eliminación del cáncer de cuello uterino. Actualmente investiga la respuesta inmune al COVID-19. Miembro de la Academia Costarricense de Ciencias y autor de más de 400 publicaciones, Premio Fred L Soper de la Fundación Panamericana de la Salud y Premio Nacional de Ciencias de Costa Rica.
