Should your doctor say “I don’t know"? | Dr. Sanjay Nagral | TEDxJaslok Hospital and Research Centre

Doctor Patient Communication and Approach to Holistic and Optimal healthcare is crucial part of Medicine. This talk challenges the conventional patient doctor relationship and gives a fresh perspective to shared decision making in personalized patient care. Dr.Nagral did his MBBS & MS from GS Medical College; worked at the KEM Hospital Mumbai till 1999 as Associate Professor of Surgery. He was awarded fellowship in the UK in 1996 -97 and did it in HPB surgery & liver transplantation at Kings College Hospital & Royal Free Hospital in 1997. He has 120 publications in indexed journals & contributed six textbook chapters. He was joint secretary & chairperson of liver committee of the ZTC Committee in Mumbai from 2012- 2017. He is currently chair of donor safety; outcomes committee of Western region ROTTO of Government of India. He was nominated to executive council of Declaration of Istanbul Custodian Group & has been appointed its co-chair for 2021-22 & co-chair of Ethics task force of Asian Society of Transplantation.Besides academics, Dr. Nagral writes on public health, medical ethics & organ transplant in public space. He wrote weekly column- “Second opinion” in Mumbai Mirror in 2020 / 2021 and now in the Hindustan Times.
