How an 8 year old girl learned five languages | Xiyuan Zhang | TEDxNACIS Shanghai Youth
An 8-year-old polyglot shares her playful approach to mastering five languages through dessert orders, animated dubs, and a "7+2+1" immersion method. Transforming language learning into cultural adventures, she proves age is no barrier when combining curiosity with practical techniques like survival phrases and language buddies - turning tongues into keys for global connection. My name is Kaixin, and I'm 8 years old. I'm a confident and curious girl who believes that anything is possible if you keep learning and exploring. My passion and enthusiasm for travelling has inspired me to learn five languages. I love learning new ways to communicate with people from all over the world and I've been lucky to visit many interesting places. I also love to paint because it lets me bring my imagination to life with colors. When I'm not painting, you'll probably find me playing the Guzheng, a beautiful traditional Chinese instrument. The music I create makes me feel connected to my culture and history. My favorite subject in school is science because I love discovering how the world works. Whether it's learning about space, nature, or cool experiments, science always excites me.
