Math in Action: Population Growth Models | Louis-Philippe Gervais | TEDxCégep Champlain St Lawrence

Louis-Philippe Gervais explores how calculus and statistics are applied to population growth models. His talk highlights the social, economic, and environmental insights these models provide without delving into complex math. My name is Louis-Philippe Gervais. I have a passion for mathematics, and more specifically for math subjects that can be applied to the real world. In my TEDx talk, I will present an example of an application of calculus and statistics: population growth models. For those of you less interested in mathematics, don't worry! I will not go into the nitty-gritty of the mathematical methods used but will rather put the emphasis on the social, economical, and environmental factors considered by each model, as well as their importance in our society. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
