Bridging University - Industry Gap Through Collaboration | Dr. Muhammad Abdul Goffar Khan | TEDxRUET

Hear an age-old professor explaining the gap that has continued for years between the Industry and academia. Dr. Muhammad Abdul Goffar Khan, a Professor and researcher, talks about the misconnection and also how to connect the dots between the up-to-date industry skills and the lessons that are taken in universities. In his talk, while defining the term "Industry" in a new definition, he explains the necessity of real-time feedback from industries to academia for developing cutting-edge curricula and making graduates capable of the ever-changing job markets. Dr. Muhammad Abdul Goffar Khan, a distinguished Professor of Electrical & Electronic Engineering at RUET, earned his Ph.D. in High Voltage Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 1998. He pioneered the establishment of RUET’s High Voltage Laboratory, enhancing hands-on learning in engineering. With over four decades of service, he transformed education by emphasizing practical applications over theory. As Director of IQAC, he introduced the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) system, preparing students for real-world challenges. A former Vice President of IEEE Bangladesh, Dr. Khan’s dedication to research and teaching has left a lasting impact. His energy and passion continue to inspire generations at RUET.
