The Paradox of Time | Nigel Fernandes | TEDxAl Diyafah High School

My idea explores the paradox of time - how it feels infinite when we waste it, yet fleeting when it matters most. This perspective challenges the conventional view of time as something to be managed or saved. Instead, it focuses on how our attention shapes our experience of time. By highlighting the importance of being present in the moment, I offer a fresh approach: time isn't defined by clocks or calendars, but by the moments we truly live. This shift encourages us to value attention over time itself, fostering a deeper, more meaningful connection to our lives I am a passionate public speaker who believes in the transformative power of words to inspire, connect, and leave a lasting impact. Having won numerous competitions, I’ve learned that the true reward isn’t just the accolades—it’s the ability to spark meaningful conversations and create unforgettable moments. For me, every speech is a story waiting to be told, a bridge to understanding, and a chance to ignite change. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
