Musical Performance | Jet Black Diamonds | TEDxLjubljana

Originating from the Vipava Valley, the band Jet Black Diamonds is made up of five young men. They are united by their youthful energy and love for writing original music. Free from the constraints of musical styles, they combine different musical genres, but most often, as they say, they are drawn to modern variants of rock 'n' roll. In 2021, they first made waves with their debut single, “Retro Anorak”. After local success, the song reached a wider Slovenian audience and, as the Song of the Week in August, became one of the most played songs on the national radio station Val 202. A few months later, the Jet Black Diamonds dominated the student band competition Šourok 2021 and released a new single, “Še zadnjič”, followed by a nomination for the Slovenian Music Award “Zlata piščal” for Best New Artist. In 2022, they released their first EP, “Večvredne romance”. From the album, three songs became Songs of the Week. In April 2024, they released their first LP, “Sladki problemi” which they presented at the sold-out Kino Šiška, Ljubljana’s urban cultural centre. They believe this album will help them land among the most influential Slovenian music artists. On the TEDxLjubljana stage they performed their original songs “Retro anorak” and “4 od 10”.
