How video games help us solve problems | Syed Abbas | TEDxQatarUniversity
Inspiration can come in all formats. Who would have thought gaming can be used to inspire the problem solvers of the future?
Syed Hamad Abbas is the former President and Co-Founder of the Qatar University eSports Club. He is also an Honors Program graduate from Qatar University. He is a committed eSports enthusiast having hosted and been a guest on various interviews, podcasts, and more, contributing towards the understanding of gaming from a youth perspective. Syed understands that gaming is more than meets the eye, and is all in the eye of the beholder. It can have inherent benefits when used to create immersion, such as better understanding our past triumphs and calamities to better shape our future. Thus, Syed delivers this talk to change the mindset that gaming is just a waste of time. Syed Hamad Abbas believes that inspiration and motivation can come
from unexpected places. He invites us to consider how gaming, often
viewed as entertainment, can be a tool to solve global issues and help
us understand the past. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
