General Evacuation Information
In the event of an emergency, you are alerted by the sounding of an alarm and fire alarm strobe lights.
HIGH RISE BUILDINGS
HIGH RISE BUILDINGS
In a high-rise building, all floors may not go into alarm and evacuate at the same time. As such a staged evacuation would occur. For example, if an alarm is triggered on the 5th floor, alarms sound on floors 4 and 6 and all must immediately evacuate. The occupants in the other floors may not immediately go into alarm, and as a result may remain in the building. A staged evacuation ensures occupants in immediate danger are exiting the building. During an emergency, Building Management and/or Rescue Personnel will monitor the incident to determine if evacuation of additional or all floors is necessary. DO NOT USE THE ELEVATORS OR PARKING GARAGE DURING AN EMERGENCY. ONLY USE THE DESIGNATED EMERGENCY EXITS.EVACUATION ROUTES/EXITING THE BUILDING
Evacuation Routes/Exiting the Building
After being notified to evacuate, stop all work activities and evacuate immediately. Close, but do not lock, the doors (locked doors can hamper rescue operations). During an emergency evacuation, use the most appropriate exit route for your location at the time of evacuation. If unable to do so, use a secondary exit route. Floor Marshals will instruct you to clear the area. You may not be allowed back into the building for an extended period of time. Plan accordingly.FIRE EXTINGUISHERS
FIRE EXTINGUISHERS
Do not use a fire extinguisher until the fire alarm is pulled. If you do use a fire extinguisher for a small fire, remember to employ a One and Done approach. If the fire is not extinguished using one extinguisher, you are expected to immediately evacuate. At the assembly point, inform your Floor Warden when and where you used the fire extinguisher. The Floor Warden will inform the Building Leader or On-site Coordinator.COLLEAGUES REQUIRING ASSISTANCE
COLLEAGUES REQURIING ASSISTANCE
Colleagues who need assistance during an evacuation can complete a voluntary self-disclosure form. Accommodations for colleagues may include assigning an assistance buddy. Assistance buddies will be trained accordingly.LIST OF FLOOR WARDENS AND FLOOR MARSHALS
