He pointed out that the organization continues its pioneering role in building a safe and innovative digital future, with a focus on transforming economic and social potential into a tangible reality.
“This sector is expected to contribute more than $15 trillion to the global economy over the next five years, especially with the rise in the volume of misinformation and cybercrime, which costs annually $10 trillion, an amount equivalent to the economies of 10 G20 countries,” Eng. Al-Suwaian said.
He also cited a UNICEF report that stressed the importance of protecting individuals from harmful content online, while stressing that protecting the digital future of future generations is a collective responsibility.
Al-Suwaian touched on the efforts of Saudi Arabia to lead proactive steps to build a reliable digital environment, through the organization’s agenda 2025-2028, which focuses on enhancing cybersecurity, empowering individuals with basic digital skills, supporting collaborative research between member states, stressing that inclusiveness is a fundamental pillar, especially in the field of AI.
He highlighted Saudi Arabia's efforts and achievements within the pioneering IMPACT initiative, which contributed to enhancing international cooperation and advancing the digital transformation in public services through qualitative agreements between countries. He added that the initiative is not only a digital market, but a platform for building strategic partnerships that support innovation.
