Riyadh to host First Arab European Cities Dialogue Forum

RIYADH — The Saudi capital will host the first edition of the Arab European Cities Dialogue Forum under the theme "City Partnerships for a Better Future" from May 11 to 13, Riyadh was chosen as the first host city for the event.
The selection of Riyadh as the first host city for the forum confirms its advanced position in the regional and international urban landscape, as well as its pivotal role in supporting municipal initiatives and strengthening cross-border partnerships.
The forum is jointly organized by the Arab Urban Development Institute, the PLATFORMA platform of the Association of European Municipalities and Regions, and the International Agency of the Association of Dutch Municipalities.
A range of common issues facing cities, most notably infrastructure challenges, improving the quality of municipal services, digital transformation, sustainable financing, and climate change, along with multi-level cooperation between cities and urban actors, will be discussed during the forum.
The forum represents a practical platform for connecting Arab and European cities with real funding opportunities through direct communication with donor institutions and investors, opening new horizons for activating local projects within integrated development frameworks.
A number of secretaries and mayors from various cities, will attend the Forum along with international entities including urban organizations, municipal unions, and donor funds and institutions specializing in supporting development projects. This will make it a meeting point for municipal decision-makers and development representatives from around the world.
