Yemeni national arrested in Makkah for promoting fake Hajj campaign

MAKKAH — Security patrols in Makkah have arrested a Yemeni resident for involving in fraudulent acts related to Hajj. It was found that the Yemeni resident posted deceptive Hajj campaign advertisements on social media, falsely offering housing and transportation services for pilgrims within the holy sites. The suspect was referred to the Public Prosecution after taking the necessary legal action.
The General Directorate of Public Security urged citizens and expatriates to comply with Hajj regulations and guidelines and to report any violations by calling over the number 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and Eastern Province, and the number 999 in other regions of the Kingdom.
