Saudi Arabia condemns Israeli strikes on Iran, urges return to negotiations

Saudi Arabia on Saturday renewed its condemnation of Israel’s “blatant aggression” against Iran, calling the attacks a violation of Iranian sovereignty and a breach of international laws and norms that threaten regional security and stability.Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan delivered the Kingdom’s position during the opening session of the 51st Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), hosted in Istanbul.
He called for an immediate halt to military operations, urged all parties to avoid escalation, and emphasized the need to return to diplomatic negotiations between Iran and the international community.
Prince Faisal also reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause, stressing that the Kingdom has exerted every effort to contain the crisis in Gaza, address the worsening humanitarian situation, and work toward ending Israel’s war on the Palestinian people.
“The Kingdom stands firm on the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital,” he said, adding that Saudi Arabia continues to push for Arab and Islamic unity on the issue.
Turning to Yemen, the foreign minister reiterated Saudi Arabia’s support for a political resolution and renewed the Kingdom’s peace initiative aimed at ending the conflict and restoring peace and stability in the war-torn country.
