Mayoralty begins disconnecting services from dilapidated buildings in three Jeddah neighborhoods
Saudi Gazette report
JEDDAH — The Jeddah Mayoralty has begun on Sunday disconnecting electricity and water services from a number of dilapidated buildings in Faisaliah, Al-Rabwah, and Al-Farouq neighborhoods, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance public safety and protect lives and property.
This step came after serving notices to landlords and completing regulatory procedures, giving them sufficient time before implementation begins. This work is being carried out under the supervision of the General Department of Emergency and Crisis Management, in coordination with relevant authorities, as part of a plan to address the condition of dilapidated buildings and mitigate their risks to residents and the urban environment.
The mayoralty affirmed its continued efforts to monitor and address buildings that pose a threat to public safety across the governorate's neighborhoods, in line with its goals of improving the urban landscape, enhancing quality of life, and ensuring a safe and sustainable urban environment.
