Life paths and challenges of women and girls with disabilities | Mukhabbat Rakhimova | TEDxCAU Women

In her speech, Mukhabbat Rakhimova, sheds light on challenges faced by disabled women in her society through her personal story. She recounts the journey in which she had struggled with the limitations and lack of opportunities for education, socialization and many other aspects of life until she became an advocate for inclusivity. She firmly believes that the stereotypes and social stigma around disabled women can be broken if only we all contribute to creating an inclusive environment. Muxabbat Rahimova, leader of the Association of Disabled People “SHAROIT PLUS” and advocate for inclusion, specializes in training individuals on inclusivity practices and raising awareness about the rights and needs of disabled persons. Having work experience in international projects such as JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency), she is dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment and empowering communities through education and advocacy. In her speech she will discuss the challenges disabled women face and show how they can be supported to overcome the obstacles with the help of society.
