The realization of a "human nutrition" | Lehan Wang | TEDxNACIS Shanghai Youth
A brutally honest account of chasing quick fitness fixes that left the speaker exhausted and frustrated. The turning point? Discovering that real change comes through small, consistent steps rather than dramatic overhauls. This talk unpacks the science of habit formation while challenging our cultural obsession with extreme self-improvement, ultimately advocating for kinder, more sustainable paths to personal growth. Hello, I'm Emily Wang from Grade 10, a health and nutrition enthusiast who make myself an "experiment in human nutrition". In this speech, I'm going to present to you my experiments and my feelings from them. How to make a happy and ordinary life coexist with good health?
What this journey of experiments has taught me is that we can take the word "healthy" off the scale and turn it into a magical elf, hiding it in the beat of the headphones on morning jog, in the extra half-scoop of seasonal veggies the cafeteria lady gives me, and in the whisper I have with myself every time I make a choice.
Are you all ready to hear about the life ticks I've picked up over the years of amazing experiments that are more noteworthy than calorie numbers? Are you ready to unwrap this special experiment report with me? This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
