Over Weight? | Lenny Vartarian | TEDxUNSW Salon

We’ve been conditioned to see weight as the ultimate marker of well-being, but the reality is so much more complex. Professor Vartanian explains how we, as a society, have been conditioned to believe that a low weight corresponds to a healthy life. Lenny Vartanian is a Professor in the School of Psychology at UNSW. His research focuses on the psychological aspects of eating and weight, including dieting and eating behaviours, body image, and obesity stigma. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
