In his insightful TEDxILSLaw address, Dr. Vinay P. Sahasrabuddhe emphasized the urgent need for young and talented individuals to actively participate in politics. He highlighted that despite being key stakeholders in democratic governance, youth engagement in politics remains low. Dr. Sahasrabuddhe identified major deterrents such as political uncertainty, caste-based dominance, and dynastic control. He stressed the importance of political reforms, advocating for transparent recruitment processes, internal democracy in political parties, and capacity-building initiatives to groom future leaders. He warned that without youth participation, governance risks being dictated by past generations. Encouraging young minds to embrace idealism, seek mentorship, and engage actively, Dr. Sahasrabuddhe underscored that improving politics requires both societal awareness and grassroots involvement. Concluding on a motivational note, he urged the youth to become catalysts for change and contribute to building a stronger, more progressive democracy — a truly Viksit Bharat. Dr. Vinay P. Sahasrabuddhe is a distinguished scholar, political scientist, and statesman. A former Rajya Sabha MP (2016–2022) from Maharashtra, he holds a Doctorate in Political Science and a postgraduate degree in English literature from the University of Mumbai. Currently, he serves as President of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), promoting Indian culture globally. He has also chaired the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth & Sports, addressing key social and educational issues.
