Feeding the Next Generation Before it's too Late | Jesse Pound | TEDxQueensU

Jesse shares her journey from engineering student to AgriTech founder in Kenya, revealing how Africa missed the first Green Revolution. She highlights youth-driven agricultural transformation and the global impact of food waste, urging action to prevent a looming food crisis. Jesse is the co-founder of Vunatec, a Kenya-based social enterprise transforming subsistence farming into thriving agribusinesses through a digital marketplace and management platform. With a background in mechanical engineering and three years of experience working directly with farmers in Kenya, she has witnessed first-hand how a lack of coordination and support in smallholder farming communities leads to immense waste of Kenya’s rural food supply. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
