The White T-shirt Crisis: Exploring the fashion revolution | Manal Olama | TEDxGUC

Have you ever wondered about the significant environmental issues associated with fast fashion? Manal takes us through the impacts of trendy, fast fashion on water usage, waste production as well as pollution while allowing us to see the importance of "quality over quantity". Manal Olama is a dedicated leader and philanthropist with a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering and Systems from Cairo University. She is the CEO of the Egyptian Clothing Bank, where she manages and develops a state-of-the-art zero-waste entity that fulfills 10 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Manal is also the Founder and General Secretary of the Egyptian Food Bank, and the Founder and CEO of Almah, a sustainable fashion brand. Her commitment to social welfare is evident in her belief that "clothes change lives" and her passion for serving the underprivileged. Manal is a member of the Sustainable Fashion Alliance and the Circular Business Forum, and was a member of the National Basketball and Rowing teams in the 80s.
