A veces, las grandes cifras esconden algo mucho más íntimo: el nombre, la sonrisa y la historia de cada niña. Cristina Martínez no habla de números, habla de vidas. De sueños que parecían imposibles y que hoy caminan con libertad hacia el futuro.
Educación, Salud, Dignidad y Amor. Cuatro pilares que sostienen el trabajo incansable de “Pequeña Nowina” la ONG que creo en 2015 para dar voz a las niñas “invisibles” de Sierra Leona, y que muestran cómo una visión clara y un corazón comprometido pueden cambiar el destino de generaciones.
Cuando los titulares ya no importan, cuando los ojos del mundo miran hacia otro lado, la pobreza no desaparece… se perpetúa. Pero ahí también surgen los verdaderos héroes: las ONG de verdad, la educación que siembra futuro, y personas como Cristina que han dedicado su vida a que las niñas tengan una oportunidad real.
Sierra Leona no solo es un lugar en el mapa, es el espejo de un sistema injusto. Cristina nos lo comparte desde la piel, desde el barro, desde la experiencia, desde el corazón.
Con una marcada conciencia social y con el deseo de que su trabajo tuviese un profundo impacto positivo en la sociedad, en el año 2012 deja su puesto de Directora de Comunicación y Marketing para poner en marcha su carrera al servicio de los demás.
En 2015 crea la ONGD Pequeña Nowina con el objetivo de ser voz para las niñas y mujeres más vulnerables y ayudarles a alcanzar su máximo potencial a través de la educación, la salud, un oficio digno y la formación en valores. A día de hoy ha ayudado a más de 25.000 mujeres y niñas en países como Sierra Leona (África), India, Ecuador, Ucrania y España.

After graduating from TED Ankara Koleji High School, he was admitted to Middle East Technical University where he had his B.S. in management in 1979 and M.B.A. in 1980. He received his Ph.D. in finance at Syracuse University in 1986. Before joining Bilkent University, he taught at Ball State University and Middle East Technical University. He has served as the dean of the Faculty of Business Administration between 1991-2004. He has also worked as a consultant at the Research Department of the Central Bank of Turkey between 1988-93. He taught at Michigan State University in spring 2000. He is currently a professor of finance and the Rector of Bilkent University.
