Es el fundador y CEO de Mesoamérica Investments, desde donde ha liderado inversiones en América Latina durante los últimos 25 años en campos como energía renovable, telecomunicaciones, restaurantes, industria láctea, entre otros, con socios de clase mundial como OTPP, ACTIS, Bain Capital y grandes grupos empresariales de la región.
Luis Javier, hasta el año pasado fue miembro de la Junta Directiva del Grupo de Energía de Bogotá y Codensa, así como de diferentes empresas del portafolio de Mesoamérica. Es el fundador de Yo Emprendedor, donde más de 6 mil emprendedores se han beneficiado de sus programas y ha incorporado su modelo de emprendedurismo en la educación pública de Costa Rica. Es presidente Emérito de Alianza Empresarial para el Desarrollo, organización que presidió durante 10 años y que agrupa a más de 150 empresas en busca de un entorno más próspero, inclusivo y respetuoso con el medio ambiente.
