Breaking Binaries: On Choices, Ambiguity, and Adolescence | Shyllie Jude de Dios | TEDxMHPNHS Youth

Like many of us still navigating life’s uncertainties, she embraces the ambiguity of figuring out where we stand and where we’re headed. In her talk, Shyllie challenges us to look beyond yes-no questions. Ultimately, the power lies within us to embrace freedom, rethink binaries, and take up space as we carve our place in this world. Shyllie Jude de Dios is a Grade 12 Humanities and Social Sciences student at Marcelo H. del Pilar National High School. She is also the Feature Editor of The Republic and Vice President of the Bulacan Council Youth Task Group. She also volunteers as a member of Ex Libris and KOLAB Social Science Education Collective.Drawing from both theory and lived experience, she strives to make sense of an uncertain world in order to help others and herself. At present, she is still coming to terms with her place in the world, like so many do: embarking on humanity’s shared journey that will likely last a lifetime. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
