What Is Media Literacy? | Kate Wong | TEDxYouth@SWA

Media shapes how we think, act, and see the world. But in an era where fear spreads faster than facts, how can we separate truth from fiction? Through her personal stories, Kate reveals how media literacy is the key to breaking the cycle of misinformation as we navigate the digital age. Kate Wong is a 9th-grade student at Sinarmas World Academy. Growing up, Kate was an avid reader. Today, she sees media as the modern-day equivalent of books—a powerful tool that can inform, inspire, or mislead, depending on how we use it. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
