He is a Chartered Accountant, IIM Bangalore alumnus and Technical Specialist in Risk Management from IRM London. He started advocating the need for 360 degree risk management at a young age of 21. He carries over 15 years of experience in audit and assurance, risk management, consulting and corporate finance including structuring of strategic alliances & partnerships. He started his career with KPMG in the Governance, Risk and Compliance (Risk Advisory) services, where he worked on many enterprise risk consulting assignments across South Africa, USA, UK, China and the Middle East. Prior to setting up IRM in India, Shah set up and managed a microfinance NBFC within a financial services group where he scaled up the portfolio to over USD 15 mn leading a team of 250+ people.
