How memory distortion affects our lives | Mikel Garcia Mondragon | TEDxYouth@ASM
In this compelling talk, Mikel explores how the brain distorts memories to protect us during times of trauma and change. Drawing from neuroscience and his personal journey of moving from Mexico to Spain during the pandemic, he reveals how distorted memories can limit our happiness and self-perception. Mikel empowers the audience to question the narratives they hold about themselves and encourages the rewriting of those stories to unlock new possibilities and purpose. Mikel Garcia Mondragon is a 10th-grade student, originally from Mexico. A dedicated student and community member, he is actively involved in the French and National Honor Societies, the student council, MUN, and the Red Cross. Beyond academics, Mikel is a passionate athlete who competes in tennis and enjoys golf. He has also co-founded clubs and is always driven by his entrepreneurial spirit.
