Circular Fashionista: Rethinking Style for a Sustainable World | Jasmine Tuan | TEDxJalan Padungan

Can fashion save the planet? Jasmine Tuan—known as the "Circular Fashionista"—invites us to reimagine our relationship with clothing through the lens of sustainability and circular design. From reusing and repurposing garments to driving behavior change across Southeast Asia, her talk is a bold call to action: style isn’t just about looking good—it’s about doing good for people and the planet. Jasmine Tuan is a passionate advocate for circular fashion and sustainable living. After transitioning from a self-identified shopaholic to a committed environmentalist, she began her zero waste journey in 2018, guided by the 5Rs—Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Re-earth. Drawing inspiration from her time in Malaysia, Jasmine co-founded Cloop in Singapore, a platform that promotes sustainable shopping alternatives such as fashion swapping and textile recycling to reduce waste and overconsumption. With a passion for innovative, community-driven solutions, Jasmine is on a mission to inspire individuals and businesses to rethink their relationship with fashion, embracing more sustainable, circular practices for a healthier planet. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
